Jewellery Care

Sterling Silver

Silver is a metal that mirrors the quality of moonlight with age. It has a natural tendency to patina with time and normal wearing which can be quite attractive in itself however, this process can be undesirably accelerated if silver comes in contact with skin products, perfume or other external chemicals such as chlorinated swimming pools. Therefore it is a good rule of thumb that the jewellery should be the 'last on, first off'.

Taken care of, your silver piece will develop a subtle and warm patina over the course of wearing. And like us, maturing over time, it too has its own unique story to tell.

Equally, it can be brought back to its original shine through the use of a silver polishing cloth. A good method is the use of warm water with a small amount of dish soap and gently cleaned with a soft bristled brush. Avoid the use of harsh cleaning chemicals as they can interfere with the original finishing of the piece.

Gold

All gold jewellery is crafted in either 9ct (37.5%) or 18ct (75.0%) solid gold. In general, 9ct gold will be a harder alloy with a more subdued yellow compared to 18ct gold. Mostly unreactive, it will keep its brilliance with a lifetime of wear. However that being said, avoid contact with harsh chemical as even gold is known to tarnish if it comes in contact.
